Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the .NAME domain extension is the single TLD meant for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are famous by. At first, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level domain names remained online.

You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registrar company and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific restrictions on who can get a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
